IP valuation training ongoing for agri-based tech professionals

Los Banos, Laguna – A three-day training-workshop for technology transfer professionals of selected R&D institutes all over the Philippines is presently being held here.

The training on “Technology Valuation & Technology Transfer Modes” was organized and hosted by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) from November 27 to 29, and is being run by DOST-TAPI’s Atty. Marion Ivy D. Decena and Mr. Caezar Angelito E. Arceo.

Atty. Decena, Division Chief of Invention Development Division (IDD), and Mr. Arceo, Supervising Science Research Specialist of the same division, are the country’s first public sector Certified Patent Valuation Analysts (CPVA). They are being assisted by Ms. Mechelle Balboa, Senior Science Research Specialist, Ms. Glenda Rima, Science Research Specialist (SRS) II and Engr. Richelle Cahanap, SRS II.

Mr. Jose Tomas M. Cabagay, PCAARRD-TTPD Assistant Director graced the opening ceremony.

Dr. Ronilo P. Violanta, Specialist III of University of the Philippines Los Banos as the first peaker of the day, started the training-workshop with his topic, “Motivations for IP Valuation.”

Mr. Caezar Angelito Arceo discusses the “Introduction to Valuation.”
