The LANDBANK-TAPI Innovation and Technology (I-Tech) Lending Program provides a special lending window through the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) to complement the use of the Invention Guarantee Fund (IGF) as provided in the Republic Act No. 7459 to extend financial support to credit-worthy Filipino inventors in the commercialization of patented inventions in the Philippines

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
  • The LANDBANK-TAPI Innovation and Technology (I-Tech) Lending Program provides a special lending window through the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) to complement the use of the Invention Guarantee Fund (IGF) as provided in the Republic Act No. 7459 to extend financial support to credit-worthy Filipino inventors in the commercialization of patented inventions in the Philippines

  • Filipino Inventors with active intellectual property (IP) rights (e.g. letters patent, utility model registration, industrial design registration).

  • The assistance shall cover acquisition of fixed assets/capital expenditures/production materials and Working Capital. The Program shall fund business operations/projects within the Philippines only

  • 1.  Request/Application letter;

    2.  Project Proposal/ Business Plan

    3. Copy of valid certificate of IP Registration from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) with complete IP Documents;

    4.Projected Financial Statement for the next five (5) years;

    5.Audited Financial Statement for the past three (3) years or Interim Financial Statement (for applicants operating less than a year);

    6.Updated copies of Business Registration permits and licenses (Mayor's Permit, DTI, BIR Registration) ;

    7.Copy of Original PSA Birth Certificate (as proof of age) or any valid ID bearing the age of the proprietor;

    8.Barangay Certification as to residency in relation to given address and of good moral character;

    9.Court Clearance stating that the applicant has no conviction of case involving moral turpitude duly issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC);

    10.  Medical Certificate from a Licensed Physician stating that the applicant is of good health;

    11.  Latest Proof of Billing address;

    12.  Assigned co-implementor for inventors over 60 years old (notarized)

    13.  Valid ID/Certification (for dual citizen if applicable)

    14.  Duly signed Data Privacy Consent Form

                      15.  Notarized Affidavit of Authenticity of submitted documents

  • All proposals for the I-Tech Lending Program should be directly submitted to the Office of the Director of TAPI through the Records Section.

  • The total loanable amount under the program is P10.625 Million. P5M shall come from TAPI-IGF while the P5.625M from LANDBANK fund.

  • The TAPI-IGF funds have zero interest while LANDBANK funds have 5% interest annually.

  • No. TAPI-IGF and LANDBANK shall have a 40% and 45% loan exposure to all approved proposals.

  • No, a proponent cannot submit more than one proposal under the Program.

  • Yes. The program will require a borrower’s equity equivalent to 15% of the total project cost

  • The evaluation includes Initial evaluation of documentary requirements by I-TECH Program Staff and/or Legal Unit, an evaluation conducted by Screening Committee (SC) for RA7459 and TAPI Evaluation Committee (TEC) and deliberation by the TAPI EXECOM.

  • It will take a maximum of forty (40) days to evaluate the proposal by TAPl, provided that the proponent submits the necessary documents requested to clarify issues/comments raised by TEC before endorsement to LANDBANK for   consideration.

  • The financial assistance provided should be used in the commercialization of the invention and achieve the objectives of the project.
