TAPI and PCAARRD to conduct forum on technology assessment

The country’s first Technology Assessment and Intellectual Property (IP) Rights Protection in Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR) on 25 January 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay, Metro Manila. It will be conducted through the collaboration of DOST – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) and DOST – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).

The forum will discuss the current trends in generation and commercialization as well as IP Protection of AANR technologies in the country. It also aims to stimulate discussion on areas that the DOST may support, in particular, the patent landscaping and artificial intelligence (AI) in the sectors of AANR. The said topics will be discussed by distinguished speakers from various sectors: Mr. Noel Catibog from PCAARD, Atty. Hechanova from Association of PAQE Professionals, Dr. Linus Plym Forshell from Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV), Atty. Mary Grace Cruz-Yap from Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), Atty. Bayani Loste from Fortun Narvasa Salazar Law Offices; and TAPI’s in-house patent agents, Mr. Caezar Angelito Arceo, Mr. Roberto Verzosa, and Ms. Anna Liza Saet.

Confirmed attendees are researchers, scientists, policymakers, farmers, agricultural investors, private inventors, businessmen, patent agents, technology-transfer professionals, agricultural consultants, and other specialists from both public and private sector.
