Brief Description / Features of the Technology:

The present utility model relates in general to a locally-developed candle type ceramic filter with anti-microbial coating for use in portable water filter systems. The locally developed candle type ceramic filter is made from red clay, sawdust and sand. Further the ceramic filter is coated with an antimicrobial agent such as nanocolloidal silver. The portable water filter system is able to purify tap water and deep well water into potable water that conforms to the microbiological criteria set by the Philippine National Standards for drinking water and is safe for human consumption.
